Markets in Makati City where I go to "shop but not 'till I drop"

Wet Market in Bangkal, Makati

walking distance from my place. The Goods are fresh and not so pricey, you can even ask the seller to lower the price a bit, in tagalog "Tawad". My only drawback, tongs would really get dirty which is expected. Some sellers are dishonest so watch out for them but a lot are honest so no prob. I usually go there at 6 in the morning when everything is fresh, from fish, meat to vegetables and fruits. Anyway it's open from 6 in the morning 'till 8 in the evening.

Salcedo Market

been here a couple of times but only during Sundays when we go to Greenbelt1 Onstage for Church Service,   It's actually a Big Tent where Makati residents come together to sell their specialties or just about anything. Usually we go there at 10am just in time for Brunch, it's actually a five minute walk from the back of Greenbelt1. They have plenty to offer, from snacks to meals and bags to paintings, etc. Among my favorite buy are empanada, okoy, fish cooked in pot/sinaing na isda. But when 12pm hits, you'll feel the sun and it's really hot.

Rustans Supermarket @ Greenbelt1

I have several shopping experience here, though it's not that spacious, it's complete. They say Rustans are for High Class People because products are pricey but hey, steaks are really pricey right so don't buy steaks. lol! What I usually buy in Rustans are Bath Needs, can goods, rug, fruits and bread. One time I ask about fly/mouse trap lol! they don't have it!

Waltermart Supermarket near Cityland Pasong Tamo

When it's pay day, I go to Waltermart. I usually go there by jeep though It's also walking distance from home , thing is, I don't want the idea that I'm still going to pass by the overpass, so there. I love shopping here,it's very convenient and it's complete but there are times that wet goods are not as fresh as it should be, that's my only drawback. As for the price -reasonable. Anyways, you have to check Waltermart Cinema as well, one of my fave cinemas (may not look pleasing on the outside but worth checking)

Cash and Carry Supermarket

I go to Cash and Carry when I want to window shop for high end but cheap bags or whenever I'm visiting Structure (Apparels Shop). I love Cash and Carry Supermarket because you can buy good stuffs at a lesser price.

SM Hypermart

This is along Osmena Highway and few meters away from Cash and Carry Makati. By far, this is the most spacious of them all and only few go there to shop. I must say, give it a visit, it's complete. Only the frozen meats caught my attention, nevertheless it's still a great place to shop.

EVER Supermarket along Evangelista-Newly Opened

as I've said it's newly opened, I get to check on it last night. It's just a few meters away from home. It looks pretty small outside but when you get in, it's twice or more than Ministop/711, good thing it's located just beside UNI Oil (Gas station) if not, I would really have a hard time searching. As for the Groceries, check! Frozen Goods -check! It's actually complete minus the veggies and fruits.

S & R

It's not really in Makati but just a few meters away, It's at 5th Ave Taguig just beside St. Lukes Hospital. If you're thinking of buying in bulk then it's the place to go. Only, you need to be a member to start shopping. At S & R you get to buy imported items in XL sizes, lol! No doubt I love their apparels, they have RL and Armani -just the perfect gift for our loved ones.

Landmark Supermarket @ Glorietta

Save the best for last. Yes, I'm coming in and out of Landmark Glorietta without actually knowing they have a Supermarket and Foodcourt at the G/F hahaha poor me! Just recently, I went there to shop for Groceries and my golly, it's cheaper than any other supermarkets I've been to and it's complete as well. As for the wet goods -Everything is fresh. I blame myself for not knowing this earlier.

Happy Shopping! Hope you always find your money's worth. Much

My Thoughts on RH Bill: Make a Stand!

I rode a cab yesterday heading to Glorietta, the radio is on and the topic is RH Bill then the driver interrupted me to ask if I'm in favor of the RH Bill, my brain goes like oops and I uttered "No". He then exclaimed, Huh?  Why? Don't you see that it's the only solution to overpopulation and abortion, etc. I immediately said that, there's another option but he did not make me say a word and continued on his unwavering belief. In my mind is, "Responsible Family Planning and Responsible Parenthood" that I think is doable.

Truth is the objective of the bill is agreeable to a certain extent. What I do not agree is the universal access to  condoms, birth control pills, and IUDs., it makes me think that Philippines is becoming liberated which I hope not. Are we trying so hard to pattern our journey, our identity to other countries? Those methods should only be accessible to married couples.

Deets from Wikipedia
The Reproductive Health bills, popularly known as the RH Bill, are Philippine bills aiming to guarantee universal access to methods and information on birth control and maternal care.

Only Married Couples should have access to this

Overpopulation is a big problem yes, but is this the only solution we can afford? access to condoms etc.
My view -overpopulation is a result of no good education, no proper education and no education at all, If only each family regardless of class is equipped with Responsible Parenting...

I'm 27 years old and in the future i will have a kid of my own, and this is not the future I want for him. Pretty sure pre marital sex will be prevalent, there will be abnormalities in Conception etc., Are we aware of these things? I'm a no genius but things like this matters. I read somewhere that the government is pushing RH Bill "again" in gratitude to the U.S for helping the country claim the Scarborough Shoal, oh well 'just sharing, I'm not even sure if it's factual.

Anyway, the Catholic Church is hard on the RH Bill pointing out to Genesis 1:28 that says, "Be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground". I'm not a Catholic but I believe and have the highest respect to the word of God, Yes Jesus said this to Adam and Eve. My view-this verse actually talks about "Pro creation and Responsiblity", It doesn't talk about overpopulating the world, Hey! God is a God of order right? A person won't say be fruitful and increase in number when it means same thing. My personal view -Be fruitful and Multiply means subdue the earth with Christlike people(It's like saying "Go and make disciples of all nations...") who will have dominion over other living things.

RH Bill Claims that it is pro Responsible Parenthood, is it really? The Catholic Church is fighting for how they interpret the bible context... Now, Where do we stand? Or maybe the Church and the State can meet halfway...If RH Bill is going to push through, modify what's needed to be modified, omit what should be omitted. I pray that God would open the hearts of the people to his perfect will. Much

Met Tathione and Gluta-C Duo- Best Brightening Soaps I've Ever Tried

Mind you I'm not into skin whitening, I just want my skin tone to even out as my face looks darker than my whole body, I don't blame the sun though.

I've tried almost all soap brands and I must say Met Tathione and Gluta-C Duo (Anti Bacterial plus Skin Whitening) works wonders. Gluta-C Duo Soap wont give you the instant bright effect while Met Soap can, but they are equally effective. Hey these soaps won't give you the "mestiza look" but I'm pretty sure It'll brighten your skin, mark my word.

Met Tathione Soap

I was so curious about this girl whose face seemed different from the last time I saw her -It's like her skin was renewed from dull to bright. I envied her and was so shy to ask what she's using and so I ask a common friend to ask that girl for me, yes that was awkward but it's for my skin's sake.

It was so nice of her to tell that she's only using Eskinol Clear and Met Soap. I can't believe a soap can actually solve my long time agony and mind you Met Tathione Soap is pricey, 380 pesos for a bar. After a few years, I searched the net, I came across another review that says this soap can actually pacify allergies on face especially red patches. I said to myself, Why not give it a try? Yes I tried it. Voila! It's True.

How I use it?
I make it bubble on my face and let it stay for 30 sec to not more than a minute then rinse off

Cons?

You cannot miss a day because it won't be as effective
Pricey
Have no instant effect on marks/pimple marks unlike the Unbranded Magic Cream which I'm bragging about for ages (and I can't find it anymore)

Pros?

Face instantly Clears; After 3 days people around will notice the bright effect
Moisturizing, It'll not dry out your face
Not Harsh
It does not cause pimple breakout

The truth is my bf was amazed at the effect that he told his mom about it. By the way I bought mine at Mercury Drugstore, you can check it out there.

GLUTA-C DUO Anti Bacterial plus Whitening Soap

Please don't be confused, Gluta-C Intense Whitening Soap is another Variant. I've tried it and I don't agree with the "Intense" part. It's just like any other soap.
This is what I'm bragging about, from the same manufacturer. The thing is, the supply is low. Before I can chance upon this almost in all Supermarkets and drugstores but now I can only find it at SM Hypermart Makati, and that is if I'm lucky enough because most often, there are only 5 pieces left. One time at Waltermart, I was lucky to have the last piece, I want to jump in joy if you just can imagine. I wonder why this is not on their website. I wish there's a high demand for this variant, just a wakeup call for Ardent. It's way better than their sought-after Gluta-C Intense Whitening Soap.

When I was using the soap regularly

Cons?

Prolong use would result to dry skin but nothing to be alarmed
Low Supply

Pros?

Doesn't cause pimples, might be because of the anti-bacterial thingy
Brightens the skin in a weeks time
Cheaper, You can buy it at around 60-120 pesos (depends on the store)
Pimple marks lighten

I said I almost tried all soaps just to even out my skin tone and I'm not looking anymore, I just love these soaps, I'm a fan. Much ♥

Singapore -Why Do I Love Thee?

Singapore is close  to my heart for some reason, been there a couple of times, I don't want to go into details. All I can say, it's one of the most awesome places I've been, truth is, you can memorize the places in just a span of 1 month and you can travel from end to end in a day. Most of their locals are pretty much same as Filipinos, nice and friendly. The Country is actually known for its cleanliness, well generally. As to the population, I guess Chinese dominates Singaporean. During my stay I mingled with different mixes -Chinese, Indian, Malay, Indonesian, Bangladesh, SG locals and of course Filipinos, diverse culture it is.

My very first time in Singapore was way back when I don't even look for budget fares, to cut it short, I landed in Changi Airport. That time I was by myself , pretending to be an independent woman. I had two phones with me and just right after the plane landed, both malfunctioned -poor me. Glad my seatmate in the plane was so nice to lend me his phone. In other words, I didn't have much photos.

Going back, my first impression of Changi Airport was like "Oh my is this an airport or a hotel"?  It's fully carpeted, so clean and just amazing, "Why can't we have one just like this"?...The truth is I don't want to go out of the airport because it's just jawbreaker but then again I still had to find my way out, it's so big and 'cant find any exit signs.

My first cousin is actually a resident and was nice enough to have me at her home in Tampines, just 5 minutes away from the airport. I stayed for the night and the next day transferred to my accommodation which I rented for 350 Singapore Dollars, It was a clean and decent room. By the way, it's in Bukit Batok. I had memories in Bukit Batok but was not captured. I don't know it's like all my gadgets failed me.

Came my second time which I can say is the most memorable vacation I had. I was with my aunties, sisters of my mom. This time we landed at the Changi Budget Terminal, I can't say it's equally jawbreaking than the former. The latter is smaller but is equally clean. We took a taxi, an SUV for a taxi lol! We stayed at Marine Parade which is so accessible. The place is near the hawker, the shopping mall, the coast and a few minutes bus ride to Marina Bay and Suntec City. I had so many memories in Marine Parade...Until I transferred to Bedok near Bedok Reservoir and so I'm usually in Eunos or Ubi. What's good about the place is it's just 1 bus ride to Orchard. Since I stayed there for quite some time, I tried to find a Christian Church where I can worship during Sundays and found "Hope Christian Church" and "Bread of Life Christian Ministries" also known as Mosaic which is in Cineleisure. Glad I found those Churches, you can google it for the exact address.

Random Photos below, each has it's own story...maybe some other time I'll put in details. Hope you like it. Much ♥
