My Supernatural Encounters

When you're naive...

When I was just a baby, I dreamt I'm in a hot air balloon  with angels guiding me to heaven. It was completely surreal, heaven is so white covered by clouds.

My parents heard me say "punta ako sa langit, babalik ulit" (I'm going to heaven but I'll come back) that's why they didn't interrupt my sleep and since, they've been telling me about that story.

But Jesus said, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children."Matthew 19:14

Don't Make a Wish on a Shooting Star

They said you have to make a wish when you chance upon a falling star. One night, when I was  7 or 8 yrs old, not pretty sure though, I was in the balcony just wondering and alas I saw a falling star, It was actually my first time to see a falling star. I was earnestly looking at it and to my surprise it's slowly coming towards me. It looked like an airplane from afar but when it arrived in the balcony, I saw a huge round flying object surrounded by blinking yellow lights. I want to shout and run to my dad who's just outside but I just can't seemingly move. If you're thinking about a UFO, that's exactly what I saw. Because I wasn't able to move and was scared, In my mind I asked God for help and I said "Jesus" and I ran away. Without hesitation I told my dad about it  but when he tried to check, the object is already gone and it already resembled an airplane from afar. With that experience, I'm pretty sure UFOs are not from God.

Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

There's Power in the Name of "Jesus"

This happened when I was in Grade 4 or Grade 6 if my memory serves me right. One night I was scolded by my mom and I went to a friend's house, just a few meters away from our house. I told my friend that I'll stay in their house for a few hours. On my way home, that was almost midnight...I had an instinct that someone's running towards me, and there I saw a huge dog (more like a bear about maybe 6 ft. tall, not sure) and he's about to attack me, I said "Jesus"...and upon saying the name of the Lord, the dog fled swiftly as if he is running for his life. The next morning, my mom and I went out to investigate, nobody owns a dog as huge as what I've described in the neighborhood.

"The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe." Proverbs 18:10

Childlike Faith

There was a time in college when I have to commute to and fro school. My school then was a few hours away from home and whenever it's rush hour, it's extremely hard to commute. Without a doubt I said, "Lord please, I need a ride". And came rushing an empty public utility vehicle. This happened several times. For me faith is true faith when you don't worry at all because worry brings doubt and when you're doubting, faith is absent. Lesson is "You have to have a childlike faith" -total dependence.

Blessing in Disguise

We've struggled financially when I was like 18 yrs old and my money was just enough for a one-way ride to school. But then again, I don't want to be absent in class. So I rode a bus going to school without worrying at all. When I was about to pay, the driver said "You don't need to pay, it's okay", I said "Are you sure kuya, Thank you po"... I was so amazed that God truly knows every detail of my life, It was truly a blessing in disguise.

When God put a smile on my face

God knows how much I love to eat nuts then. And totally sure He knew that my money to school is just enough. The moment I got off the bus, I heard somebody calling me "Gusto mo?" (You like?), I saw a peanut vendor waving. I said "No kuya" he replied, "No You don't have to pay, It's free", and I responded "No kuya, Thank you"...Honestly it made me smile.

God talks in dreams too

One night, I had a dream, up until now the story is still crystal clear to me. I was brought into an open field with a nipa hut at the center and there were two familiar people who told me "balikbalikan mo ang Kawikaan 16" ("Always check Proverbs 16"). I don't even know that verse so when I woke up I turned to my bible and since, it has been my life verse.
911 Attack-The Untold Story

In 2001 I had a dream, I opened our house's front door while the Lord is speaking to me "Look, I Am doing this"... In that dream I was convinced that it was not happening in the Philippines but somewhere else. I saw a twin tower over the hill that's outrageously flaming. When I woke up, I don't have any idea what's that exactly about, just like the usual I shared the story to my mom. After 3 months, we saw the news about the 911 attack and I had goosebumps because it resembled my dream. And by the way, I knew nothing about the World Trade Center(perhaps because I'm not so inclined to history before) until the news.

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions" Joel 2:28

Marriage on the rocks

I had another dream -my previous pastor and his wife were struggling in their marriage. The wife is decided to leave him. I was so confused why they had to be part of my dream. Again, I shared it to my mom, she said that maybe I had to pray for them. Little did I know that their marriage is on the rocks until a friend told me.

Bottomless Pit

Yep, I had too many dreams which I think are too valuable to forget about. Another one is when I was in High School. I dreamt about something futuristic, my dad was building a time machine to escape the tribulation period and he has a "run-for-your-life-look". While he was building his time machine, I am falling into a bottomless pit, it's like a never ending fall and finally I reached the lowest part. It was dark and rocky, my family was there and they look frightened...When I woke up, few things popped to my mind "Am I going to hell?" "Are we all going to hell?"

Reality

Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Revelation 21:8
But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.

1 Corinthian 6:9
9Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

God's Gift

Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Ephesians 2:8
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--

Singing our hearts out

My mom and I have the same in common, we love to sing or hum praises anywhere we are. One time inside a jeepney on our way home while we were singing praises, an old woman in front of us kept on pointing at a space beside me, she said "devil". My mom heard the woman so she asked "ano hong sabi nyo?" ("What did you say?"), the woman then again replied "devil", this time my mom was shocked. She asked the third time  just to be sure"Ano ho ba yun?", the old woman said "demonyo"("devil"). We were both shocked and we quickly pray for God's covering -we asked for the blood of Jesus to cover us and for the full armor of the Lord. Afterwards the woman disappeared. There were a few people who are also on the jeepney and seems like we're the only one who noticed the old woman. After we prayed, we got off the jeepney and we both had goosebumps from head to toe.

Ephesians 6:10-12
10Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

14Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS,15and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE;16in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.17And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Inside the Taxi on a Hot Afternoon...

Me and my mom went to the grocery to buy stuffs for our store. We rode a taxi, the driver was so nice, he even helped us in lifting our goods. And while he was driving, I noticed something out of the ordinary in the center mirror. I saw the driver resembling a beast like creature -his ears are big and he looks terribly old. I didn't tell my mom as of yet because I was thinking she might collapse out of  shock and I'll be left by myself hahaha. I just prayed in my mind that God would cover us with his precious and powerful blood. Then finally we arrived at our store, my mom quickly shared to me what she saw. Gosh! We had the same thoughts...

How my Mom came to know Jesus of the Bible

My mom dreams of becoming a nun when she was a youngster -She was a devoted Catholic then. She used to wipe all the statues of Saints and Images of a man they believe to be Christ and used to whisper her prayer to the statue of the woman they call "Mama Mary". Until one day, she saw images of the woman "Mary" on the floor, she was terrified instead of being in awe. Came a time when she got totally engrossed in listening to "702 DZAS" (a local radio station). She regularly tunes in to that station, and has discovered so many things about the "Jesus of the Bible". Being a devoted Catholic her whole life, she had so many questions in mind, was totally lost and confused especially after reading the bible herself. She asked God to open her mind to what is true. The Lord by His Grace introduced Himself to my Mom through the Bible and the Christian Radio Station. And my mom was born again.

These were her first few lessons:

  • She learned about the omitted part of the ten commandments, She then realized that what she was doing before (like praying, kissing, wiping a graven image) was actually an abomination to the Lord.

Exodus 20:4 You shall have no other gods before me.“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneathor in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am ajealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those whohate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

Deuteronomy 5:8 "You are not to make for yourselves a carved image resembling any form in the heavens above, on earth below, or in the waters under the earth.

  • She learned that she no longer need to confess her sins to the priest and ask the statue of Mary to pray for her. She realized that what she has been doing her whole life was pure tradition.
Scripture says:
If we confess our sins (to God), he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

That would only mean that we can come boldly/directly to the Lord without mediators

My mom gave her Life to Christ and she was born again. Born Again is not a religion for crying out loud.

The Scripture will speak for itself:
John 3:3
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again."
“How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

  • She learned that no amount of good works can save her. Before, her religion taught her that she needs to be good and kind to get into heaven or to be saved until the Holy Spirit leads her to truth about the Scripture

"For we have been saved by grace through faith and this is not your own doing it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

I'll see you in heaven mommy...but not soon ;)

Salvation is a Gift, that means it's Free, All we need to do is Accept it

Post Script: This is not about me and my story, this is about the Greatness of God and the Power of His Name. Much
